Seed-to-Harvest Lab is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

How the links work

• Some links on this site — clearly placed in a "Grow it yourself" box on guide pages — are affiliate links. They carry our Associates tag (growthroughti-20).
• If you buy through one of these links, Amazon pays us a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same as buying directly.
• Amazon sets a cookie when you click so a purchase can be attributed (a sale generally counts if you check out within 24 hours of the click). We cannot see who you are or what else you buy.
• The same disclosure line appears next to every affiliate link on this site and travels with our links on our social channels too.

How products are chosen

• One product per guide, matched to the plant in that guide — usually the seed variety itself, or the supply the guide is about.
• Verified before linking. Each product's listing, brand and ASIN were checked in our records before the link was added. Where a category is weak (some seed categories have many poor listings), we chose the strongest verifiable option and say so on the page.
• Ratings are quoted only when verified in our records. Where a rating could not be verified, the page claims none.
• Limitations are printed, not hidden. Seasonal products say they are seasonal; shipping restrictions stated in a listing are repeated on the page.
• We never state prices. Prices change, and Amazon does not permit presenting a price that may be out of date.
• A product is never recommended solely because it offers a commission; if we would not point a friend starting that crop to it, it does not go on the page.

Why we run this program

Commissions are currently the Lab's only revenue experiment, and they fund the time it takes to produce the time-lapses and guides. Revenue received to date is reported honestly in project updates; as of this page's publication the program had earned $0 — the experiment is whether genuinely matched recommendations can change that.
