About Seed-to-Harvest Lab
Seed-to-Harvest Lab is the written companion to Grow Through Time, the plant time-lapse channel run by Rahat as part of NatureAI. The channel shows a plant's whole life in about 40 seconds; this site slows that story down into stages you can learn from, check, and use in your own garden.
What we do differently
Most seed-starting advice is written from above the soil. Our library of time-lapses includes cross-section views โ bean roots racing the shoot, potatoes forming on underground stolons, peanut pegs diving into the soil โ so the Lab specialises in the half of germination and growth that normally stays hidden. Each guide pairs a film with a stage table, the underlying plant science, and the troubleshooting steps for when your seeds stall.
How the time-lapses are made
The Grow Through Time films are AI-generated simulations, produced clip by clip and assembled with a day counter that follows each crop's growth arc. They are visual teaching aids โ compressed, idealised illustrations of how growth unfolds โ and they are never presented as documented real-life experiments. Every visual on this site is labelled as AI-generated, and our AI Transparency page explains the labelling standard in full.
Our editorial standards
- Facts come from sources, not from the films. Germination temperatures, timings, depths and care instructions in our guides are checked against university extension services, botanical institutions and seed-house grow guides, and every guide lists its sources at the foot of the page.
- Film timelines are labelled as film timelines. When a page says "Day 1โ90", that is the span of the AI time-lapse. Real-world timing for your garden comes from the cited sources and varies with variety, weather and soil.
- General vs species-specific advice is kept separate. What is true of seeds in general is not silently applied to one crop.
- Corrections are welcome and made openly. If a fact on this site is wrong, tell us via the Contact page and we will fix it and note the correction on the page.
How product recommendations work
Each guide may carry exactly one product link, chosen to match the plant in that guide (usually the seed variety itself). Links are Amazon affiliate links operated under the Amazon Associates program; the site earns a small commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Ratings are quoted only where they were verified in our records, and known limitations โ like seasonal availability โ are printed next to the recommendation. The full policy is on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
